Probably one of the most famous Castle’s in the World
Bavaria’s Neu Schwanstein Castle is one of those rare sites that lives up to, and even exceeds, the considerable hype. With it’s special location in the middle of the Bavarian Forest and it’s fairy-tale design visitors are sure to be charmed by King Ludgwig’s exceptional creation. The interior is equally fabulous and it’s well worth taking the tour of the inner rooms.
Touring the Castle with me will minimize time wasted queueing & you can be guaranteed a smoother experience than regular visitors. Tickets and tours of the interior can be reserved in advance by me online avoiding the lengthy and time consuming queues. Neu Schwanstein Castle can be visited all year round. I also recommend visiting ‘Castle Linderhof’. Just 45 mins away lies this opulent smaller Castle which was the only one finished during King Ludwig’s lifetime. Inspired by the ‘Sun King’ from France the interiors are impressively lavish. Be amazed by Ludwig’s incredible bedroom, amazing collection of porcelain & novel way of having his meals delivered to him.
From Heidelberg I can arrange 2/3 days tours to visit the Castle. Driving from Heidelberg I recommend over-nighting in Ulm on the way. Here one can visit the World’s tallest church spire & climb up to the very top for stunning views of the area. Plus enjoy getting to know ‘The Fischerviertel’ – the Old part of town. Ulm also has an interesting collection of Museums & Art Galleries.
At Neu Schwanstein I recommend staying in Fussen, just 10 mins drive from the Castle. The 4 Star Hotel Sonne provides a warm Bavarian welcome, has a good Wellness area & an excellent in-house restaurant.
